The Men’s New Life Program (NLP)

This residential recovery program serves men who are homeless, suffering from chronic addiction, or need help gaining control over other life destructive circumstances.

New Life Program Mission Statement: “To come alongside men on a journey from brokenness and addiction to a transformed life based on relationship with Jesus Christ.”

The New Life Program is a unique voluntary, twelve to eighteen month residential program. It serves men by providing an opportunity for recovery and rehabilitation in a safe, structured Christian environment.

The benefits gained from the New Life Program are numerous. Through implementation of spiritual, instructional tools, and extensive counseling, each man is educated and equipped in keys areas of essential life skills.

The New Life Program is an integral part of Springs Rescue Mission. Numerous men have fought their addictions, learned essential life management skills and pursued a path to self-sufficiency.

The 4 Components of the Men’s New Life Program

These four components are based on Mark 12:30, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your HEART, and with all your SOUL, and with all your MIND, and with all your STRENGTH.”

Spiritual: Every day starts with devotions and worship, Bible study, life skills recovery classes, and spiritual transformation. The goal is for each man to be able to live the rest of his life with a solid biblical foundation and understanding of how to maintain vigilance as he journeys through recovery with a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Counseling/Case Management: Each man is assigned a Program Coordinator who will work with him throughout the New Life Program. Our Program Coordinators strive to offer personal counsel and spirit-led insight to address and resolve issues related to previous life choices and to equip the men to move forward successfully as a community participant. NLP residents also participate in recovery-related groups, one-on-one mentoring, and licensed Christian counseling sessions.

Education: The Career Advancement Center (CAC) offers comprehensive education through academics, life skills and career development/readiness. Residents are able to obtain a GED, improve reading, grammar and math skills, and pursue higher education opportunities. Life skills curriculum address service, cooperation and submission to authority, trust, self-control, forgiveness, grace and respect. Career employment services offer residents the opportunity to explore viable career path options and prepare accordingly for successful employment and life as a community participant.

Work Therapy: Most men with addictions have not been able to keep a job for more than two years. Our Work Therapy component develops “soft skills” and teaches men basic proficiencies that successful employees need: following instructions, punctuality, working with others, submitting to authority, finishing a job to completion, resolving work conflict issues and developing work habits and ethics.
